COVID-19 Plan and Precautions

I'm available for your photography projects during this unusual time and here is my approach and suggestions for COVID-19.

Photos on Location

For photos taken on location (eg at your office) I will bring an iPad) that has been cleaned with rubbing alcohol) so that the photos can be viewed while maintaining social distancing from me. Clients can also download the free app to view their photos during the photo-shoot on their own iPhone or iPad. Please confirm with your office and your building that visitors are allowed right now. If not, we can do the photo session at my studio.

Photos at My Studio

If you have staff that need to be photographed but they aren't coming into your office, I can photograph them at my studio in East Vancouver. The studio is 2000 square feet and has enough space to ensure a 6 foot distance between people. At the studio I have a 42 inch screen that I can connect to my laptop for viewing the photos.

If you staff photos usually have a window backdrop (that I've photographed before) I can still take the photos at my studio and digitally add the window backdrop.

Group Photos

If you have group photos that need doing, I have a great new technique I started using last fall. Prior to COVID-19 I had some clients needing group photos of people that were difficult to schedule at the same time. With good success I've started photographing people individually and then digitally putting them together for a group photo. The first 4 photos in my corporate group photo portfolio were created this way. Looking at these photos you wouldn't guess that everyone was photographed separately.

My COVID-19 Safetly Plan (updated January 10, 2022)

I have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 since July 2021 and will have my 3rd dose mid January 2022. I have well fitting N95s that I wear while working and I have been trained on how to put them on and off safely. My assistants will also wear N95s and are fully vaccinated.

I ask that everyone at the photo-shoot (including myself) follow these measures (as per the BC Centre for Disease Control and WorkSafeBC):

  • Wash your hands upon arrival
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Always cover your cough or sneeze
  • Maintain a 2 meter distance between people at all times. I will provide directions and examples for posing while maintaining social distancing
  • Wear a mask unless you are having your photo taken

Please reschedule the photo-shoot if anyone at the session has:

  • Symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days including fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and new muscle aches or headache
  • Been directed by Public Health or Canadian Border Servto self-isolate

I am totally fine if the photo session gets postponed at the last minute. I will also reschedule if the above applies to me and my household.
